Las Grietas are located on the LZ-35 road, connecting San Bartolomé with the Monumento al Campesino. They are about 15 minutes by car from Arrecife and around 30 minutes from César Lanzarote, our boutique hotel in Lanzarote.
By car:
- From Arrecife: take the LZ-2 towards San Bartolomé and continue along the LZ-35.
- From Playa Blanca: about 35 minutes via the LZ-2 and LZ-35.
- Parking: there is no official parking, but there’s a small dirt area by the road. Park carefully and off the road to avoid blocking traffic.
What You’ll See in Las Grietas
As you approach, you’ll notice a dark hillside with a wide opening—the entrance to the main fissure. Once inside, volcanic walls rise several meters above your head, forming a natural corridor winding up the mountain. The rock’s texture, ranging from black to reddish-brown, changes with the daylight.
There is no signage or marked path, which preserves its adventurous feel. Walk with caution, especially if visiting with children or on windy days.
